Smallholder farmers lead the way to scale climate solutions

About the event

None of us need reminding of how climate change and its impacts are affecting and changing our planet with each passing day, including the production of food and the people who grow it. Some of the communities most vulnerable to the climate crisis are the small-scale farmers and workers in the Fairtrade system. Fairtrade recognizes the importance of environmental protection and early adaptation to climate change for all as key pillars for building sustainable livelihoods. This session showcases how the Fairtrade system works to facilitate the implementation of environmental requirements, especially measures that enable decarbonization in certified commodities.
